What matters to Life From The Summit

Acknowledgments, Promises, Core Values, and DEI Statement

Acknowledgments

I recognize and call out the white privilege that has been afforded to me my entire life, and the advantages I’ve had as a result. I also recognize and honor that the land on which I live and work, which is now known as the State of Colorado, is the unceded land of the Arapaho, Cheyenne, Ute, and Ochethi Sakowin. And I honor the enslaved African peoples brought to, held, and sold on this land; their descendants; and their continuing struggle for liberation. I also honor the Asian ancestors from whom the mindfulness meditation practices that have transformed my life have come. I commit wholeheartedly to using the advantages I have been given to benefit and empower others, and to uphold the commitments in my Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Statement below.

My promises to you.

When we work together, I promise to:

  • be respectful of you and our time together, and

  • act in alignment with Life From The Summit’s Core Values (below)

Core Values

Life From The Summit is grounded in three Core Values, which include other sub-values:

  • Compassion:  Human beings are hard-wired for compassion over competition. Compassion is our greatest strength and has the potential to transform the world.  Through compassion for ourselves and others, we can encourage vulnerability and honesty. I believe in treating all people, animals, and this planet with compassion.  This includes recognizing climate change as a paramount threat to the survival of all beings and this planet, and committing to efforts to end the disproportionate impacts of climate change on communities of color and economically disadvantaged populations.

  • Conscious Growth:  We’re either growing or we’re dying. There’s no standing still.  Moving consciously toward growth takes intentionality and compassion.  We can encourage conscious growth in ourselves, our communities, and our world, one small step at a time.  Conscious growth also includes a commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion. Together, we can climb higher through equality. Life From The Summit and Michele L. Walter are committed to anti-racism, diversity, equality, and inclusion, as described in the Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Statement below.

  • Honesty: I believe in being a compassionate straight-shooter. I am honest with myself and my clients.

Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Statement

Climbing higher through equality

Life From The Summit, LLC, through its founder, Michele L. Walter, believes in creating a welcoming environment for all people of color; members of the LGBTQIA+ community; and people with different abilities, religious backgrounds, socio-economic statuses, and educational backgrounds. I am committed to diversity, equality, inclusion (DEI), and anti-racism.  As a coach and mindfulness meditation teacher, I strive to celebrate the uniqueness of each individual, their talents, and their potential, while honoring our shared common humanity.  I recognize that by the nature of the work I do, I am directly impacting people’s lives. I therefore do not take this responsibility lightly. Accordingly, I conduct this business, my mindfulness teachings, and my coaching with intentionality and compassion.  By creating a culture committed to DEI and anti-racism, every person can be empowered to step into their authentic selves. Only then, can all of humanity reach the summit together.
